Box Score 2 IMMACULATA, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College softball team dropped a twinbill at Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Immaculata University by scores of 6-5 and 8-6 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mighty Macs jumped out to a 3-0 in game one, in the top of the third inning the Falcons would top the scoreboard and take the lead. Freshman outfielder
Brittney Bonser (Kunkletown, Pa./Pleasent Valley) singled up the middle to lead off the inning. Sophomore outfielder
Jackie Gallagher (Fort Worth, TX/Keller Central ) was walked and freshman second basemen
Kelly Reading (Taunton, MA/Taunton) singled to right field to load the bases. An RBI by outfielder
Lily Acosta (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) who reached first on a fielder's choice scored the first run. A sacrifice fly to center field scoring another run. Sophomore first basemen
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) hit a home run to left field for two runs taking the lead 4-3.
The Falcons tied the game 5-5 in the fifth inning,
Reading singled to start the inning and would later steal second.
Acosta reached by an error by the third basemen advancing the runner to third. Sophomore shortstop
Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second on the play scoring the run. That was the final run for the Falcons as home team added one run in the fifth to take game one.
Freshman pitcher
Laura Rau (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) hit a solo home run over the center field fence to get the Falcons on the scoreboard of game two in the second inning, trailing 4-1.
Schnaubelt hit a solo home run to left center in the third inning still trailing 7-2. In the fourth inning, freshman third basemen
Aimee Sarboukh (Somerset, N.J./Bound Brook) singled up the middle to start the inning but was out on the next play.
Gallagher hit an RBI double to center field and scored on a single to right center by
Reading cutting the lead to 8-4.
Schnaubelt hit an RBI double to left field scoring
Martinez who reached first on an error.
Sarboukh reached first on an error that allowed the next run for the Black and Yellow, but they would fall 8-6 in game two that was called after five innings due to darkness.
The next game for Cedar Crest is on Friday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. at CSAC foe Gwynedd Mercy University.
