LA PLUME, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Volleyball team was handed its first loss in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action this season with the 3-1 loss to Keystone College on Tuesday evening.
The Falcons, now 14-6 overall and 4-1 in CSAC play, suffered a 3-1 loss to the Giants: 23-25, 20-25, 25-15 and 16-25.
Cedar Crest tallied 34 kills, 94 digs, 33 assists, seven blocks and three service aces. Leading the Black and Yellow in kills and aces was freshman Britney Rivera (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive), who downed 10 attacks and had two aces. Junior Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) recorded eight kills and a team-high four blocks while sophomore Kailey Elrod (Annville, Pa./Palmyra Area) contributed nine kills. Freshmen setters Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) each ended the match in double-figures for assists, Watsonwith 18 and Flatt with 13. Four Falcons recorded 10 or more digs, led by sophomore Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) who had 32 digs, sophomore Devyn Crowder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) added 17, Elrod with 15 and Rivera rounding out with 11 digs.
The Falcons will travel to Baltimore for their next contests on Saturday, October 20, facing off with Notre Dame of Maryland for a CSAC at 12:00 PM and then Christendom at 2:00 PM.
