ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Volleyball team earns its 10
th win of the season by routing the Cairn University Highlanders in straight sets, 3-0, on Thursday evening.
The Falcons, now 10-3 on the year and 3-0 in Colonial States Athletic Conference action, defeated the Highlanders 3-0, taking each set: 25-10, 25-13 and 25-14.
"I am proud of the effort our team put in tonight," commented Head Coach
Shelby Morgan. "We were able execute our offense well. We played our game all the way to the end."
The Black and Yellow ended the night with a total of 30 kills, 57 digs, 30 assists, 11 service aces and five blocks.
Leading the Falcons in kills tonight was junior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany), who earned 10 while freshman
Britney Rivera (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) downed seven. Cedar Crest had three ending in double-figures in digs, led by sophomore
Kailey Elrod (Annville, Pa./Palmyra Area) who contributed 16 digs and two aces. Sophomore
Devyn Crowder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) turned in 13 digs, four kills and two assists while sophomore
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) had 11 digs and led to squad with four service aces.
The Falcons will have just one day off before having a quad-match this weekend at Penn St.-Brandywine. Day one has two matches slated, first match versus Penn St.-Wilkes at 2:00 PM before facing off with Moravian College at 4:00 PM.
