ASTON, Pa. --- Junior outfielder
Brittney Bonser (Kunkletown, Pa./Pleasant Valley) earned the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Honorable Mention for her performance last week in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
"It's a great honor for Brittney to be recognized for her performance in the early part of our season," stated Head Coach
Katie Lynch. "She had a great approach when she stepped in the box as we faced a lot of different pitchers over the break."
Bonser started and played in all eight games the Falcons competed in during the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic, ending the week with a .581 batting average, getting 18 hits in 31 at-bats, with three doubles. She drove in 13 RBIs and scored nine runs of her own in the opening week of the season, stealing a base in the process.
Bonser had a clean slate on the field, with seven put outs, an assist with no errors.
"
Bonser saw the ball very well and provided great production at the top of our lineup and we continue to look for consistency from her throughout the season," concluded
Lynch.
The Falcons have a week off before returning to action, when they host Penn State Abington for their home-opener on Wednesday, March 21 at 3:00 and 5:00 PM on Cynthia L. Blaschak Field.
