ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Volleyball team blanked the Wilson Phoenix 3-0 to earn their first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) victory of the 2018 season on Wednesday evening.

"It was great to start our conference play and even better to start off with a win," commented Head Coach
Shelby Morgan.

The Falcons are now 8-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play after tonight's win. The scores of each set ended as follows: 25-23, 25-5 and 25-21. Cedar Crest combined for 31 kills, 26 assists, 63 digs and 11 services aces.

Leading the Black and Yellow in kills was sophomore
Lindsey Davis (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) with nine kills, followed by junior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) who downed eight attacks. Freshman
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) recorded 10 assists in the match while freshman
Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocauco) also contributed nine assists to help the Falcons to victory.

Three Falcons were in double-figures in digs, led by sophomore
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) with 21, followed by sophomore
Devyn Crowder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) adding 11 and
Davis rounding out the leaders with 10 digs.
Hoppes also contributed three service aces with
Crowder and
Hill each adding two.

"We were pleased with their effort, but we look to further improve as we get to the meat of our conference schedule," concluded

The Falcons return to action on Saturday, September 29 when the squad travels to Bryn Athyn to take on the Lions for the second CSAC match of the season. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
