ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Volleyball team defeated the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island in straight sets Thursday night to improve to 2-1 on the season.
"I'm happy with the way our team finished tonight," stated Head Coach
Shelby Morgan. "We did some things well, but I feel that we have room to grow."
Leading the Black and Yellow in kills was sophomore
Lindsey Davis (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area), with 13 and 13 digs. Also in double-figures in kills was junior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) who had 10 kills and a block in the contest. Freshman
Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocauco) added 23 assists while freshman
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) ended the night with 13 assists.
Cedar Crest concluded the contest with 43 total kills, 51 digs and seven service aces.
"We didn't do everything right tonight, but that shows that we still have room for improvement and I can't wait to see how we continue to grow over the next couple of weeks," ended
Morgan.
The Falcons will return to action on Saturday, September 8, as Cedar Crest will host Immaculata and SUNY Old Westbury for a tri-match in Lees Hall. Cedar Crest will play at 10:00 AM versus the Mighty Macs, then play Old Westbury at 2:00 PM.
