Falcons take down Dolphins in straight sets in non-conference action

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Volleyball team defeated the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island in straight sets Thursday night to improve to 2-1 on the season.

"I'm happy with the way our team finished tonight," stated Head Coach Shelby Morgan. "We did some things well, but I feel that we have room to grow."

Leading the Black and Yellow in kills was sophomore Lindsey Davis (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area), with 13 and 13 digs. Also in double-figures in kills was junior Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) who had 10 kills and a block in the contest. Freshman Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocauco) added 23 assists while freshman Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) ended the night with 13 assists.

Cedar Crest concluded the contest with 43 total kills, 51 digs and seven service aces.

"We didn't do everything right tonight, but that shows that we still have room for improvement and I can't wait to see how we continue to grow over the next couple of weeks," ended Morgan.

The Falcons will return to action on Saturday, September 8, as Cedar Crest will host Immaculata and SUNY Old Westbury for a tri-match in Lees Hall. Cedar Crest will play at 10:00 AM versus the Mighty Macs, then play Old Westbury at 2:00 PM.
