ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Volleyball program defeated Wilson College in straight sets, 3-0 in the Semifinals of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Playoffs on Thursday evening in Lees Gymnasium.
The first set had the Falcons and Phoenix going back-and-forth, with the Black and Yellow extending to their biggest lead of five, at 7-2, but the Phoenix battle back and tied the match at 12-12. Cedar Crest would string together four points to regain the lead and would not give it up, claiming the first set 25-19. In the second set, the Falcons turned it on, hitting for their best percentage of the night with a .270 hitting percentage. During that set, the Black and Yellow would down 14 attacks for kills and win the set by 10-points, 25-15. The third and final set saw the Falcons face more adversity, being down 9-3 early in the set. Senior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) would serve for seven straight points before surrendering another point, tying the set at 9-9. After exchanging services and rallies, Cedar Crest would come out on top and earn the 25-18 victory.
Cedar Crest totaled 47 points in the match, coming off of 37 kills, 33 assists, seven service aces, three blocks and recorded 65 digs. Sophomore
Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) led the Falcons in three different statistical categories, a team-high 19 assists, co-leader with eight kills and three service aces.
Flatt also reached a milestone in the first set, eclipsing into the top-five in assists in a season in school-history. Earning a career milestone this evening was junior libero
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus). She shattered the school record for career digs in Cedar Crest history during the second set.
Hoppes finished the match with 21 digs to lead the Falcons, while also contributing four assists in the victory.
Sophomore
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and freshman
Kayla Yasso (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood) also finished the night in double-figures in digs, each contributing 11 digs each.

Cedar Crest improves to 15-9 overall and will appear in the first CSAC Championship Game in program history. The 2-seed Falcons will travel to Baltimore on Saturday, November 9 at a time to be determined, to take on top-seed Notre Dame of Maryland University on Gator Court.
