ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Lacrosse team was defeated by Goucher College, 2-24, in the first game of the 2019 season on Saturday afternoon.
Scoring the first goal of the season for the Falcons was freshman Elysia Slattery, who found the back of the net off a free-position shot, for her first collegiate goal. Also scoring their first collegiate goal for Cedar Crest was freshman
Madyson Lagano (Elkton, Md./North East),
Sophomore goalie
Allison Churchill (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) started and played all 60 minutes in goal, saving 12 of the 36 shots on goal.Â
Churchill received the loss in the game and puts her at 0-1 on the year.
Cedar Crest picked up 19 groundballs and four draw controls, while the Gophers had 32 groundballs and 23 draw controls.
The Falcons next contest will be Sunday, March 17 when they travel to Huntingdon to take on the Juniata College Eagles with the first whistle at 1:00 PM.
