ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Volleyball team took down the Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins in straight sets to win their third-straight game in Lees Gymnasium on Thursday evening.

The Falcons needed just three sets for to take down the Griffins 3-0 (25-19, 25-20 and 25-22) to improve to (4-3) this season.

Leading the Falcons in kills and blocks was senior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany), as she recorded 12 kills and three blocks, as well as two service aces. Junior
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) tallied 20 digs in the match, followed by sophomore
Britney Rivera (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive), who had 16 digs, downed eight balls for kills, and led the team with four service aces. Sophomore
Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) contributed 30 assists in the match to go with 12 digs to round out the members of the Black and Yellow in double-digits in digs. Freshmen
Aliyah Rhoden (Barberton, Ohio/Barberton) and
Kayla Yasso (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood) each contributed two blocks, with
Rhoden adding two kills and
Yasso with four kills and a service ace.

Cedar Crest ended the night leading with 52 total points to the Griffins 43 and eight blocks to one, but trailed Gwynedd Mercy in kills, assists and digs. The Black and Yellow recorded 68 digs, 31 kills and assists, 13 total service aces and eight blocks in the win.

The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, September 14 when they travel to Wilkes Barre for a tri-match at Wilkes University in the Marts Center. Cedar Crest goes up against the host Colonels to kick-off the day at 10:00 AM, followed by a match with Penn State Harrisburg that is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
