WILKES BARRE, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Volleyball team was swept in their tri-match at Wilkes University on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons fall to 4-5 overall on the year after today's matches, first falling to the host Colonels in straight sets 0-3 (17-25, 21-25 and 22-25) before going to five sets with Penn State Harrisburg (21-25, 25-12, 12-25, 25-19 and 7-15) to close out the day.

In the first match versus Wilkes, both junior
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) and
Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) were co-leaders for digs with 13 each.
Flatt also contributed 24 assists, four kills, two service aces and two blocks. Senior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) led the Black and Yellow with 10 kills while also adding a block and an assist. Junior
Elyse Podgurski (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) had the most service aces with three as freshman
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) had three blocks in the match. Also involved in multiple categories was sophomore
Britney Rivera (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive), who recorded five digs and four kills. The Falcons totaled 44 digs, 30 kills, 27 assists, seven aces and five block in the loss.

In the second and final match of the day, Cedar Crest had four student-athletes end in double-figures in digs, led by
Hoppes with 25.
Flatt was the next closest with 18 while also leading the Black and Yellow with 35 assists, was followed by
Podgurski with 13 digs and
Rivera with 11. Leading the offense for the second match in a row was
Hill who downed 16 attacks for kills.
Schouppe was behind
Hill with eight and
Podgurski finished with six kills and also had three service aces. Junior
Madison McGowan (Birdsboro, Pa./Daniel Boone) was a co-leader with aces with three as well, with
Hoppes ending the match with two of her own. Both
Hill and
Flatt contributed the blocks in the match, with
Hill having five and
Flatt with four. Cedar Crest ended the second match with 83 digs, 40 kills with 38 assists, 10 service aces and six blocks.

The Falcons return to action of Thursday, September 19 when they host Bryn Mawr College in Lees Gymnasium. The match is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
