SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Volleyball team suffered a pair losses in the road tri-match hosted by Marywood University on Saturday.

The Falcons, now (5-7) on the year, was swept by the host Pacers, 3-0 (13-25, 15-25 and 25-27) to open the day and then fell in four sets to Manhattanville College, 3-1 (17-25, 15-25, 27-25 and 17-25).

In the first match against Marywood, the Falcons tallied a total of 36 points with 61 digs, 25 kills, 23 assists, six service aces and five blocks.

There were two Falcons that led in kills, junior
Elyse Podgurski (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) and senior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany), each downing five attacks for kills.
Hill also was the leader in service aces with three and blocks with three as well. Freshman
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) also contributed two blocks in the match. Junior
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) was one of four Falcons in double-figures in digs, leading them with 16. The others in double-digits were
Podgurski and freshman
Kayla Yasso (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood) with 11 digs and sophomore
Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) with 10.
Flatt would also lead the Black and Yellow with 19 assists.

For the final match of the day, against the Valiants, the Black and Yellow recorded a total of 49 points with 75 digs, 35 kills, 32 assists, nine blocks and five aces.

Schouppe led Cedar Crest in match two of the day with eight kills, as
Hill added seven and
Podgurski six.
Hill was at the top of the statistical category for blocks again with a total of four as
Flatt and
Schouppe were credited with three.
Flatt assisted 26 of the 35 kills in the match, which was a team-high. Three Falcons earned double-digit numbers in digs, led by
Hoppes with 25, followed by
Flatt with 15 and
Podgurski with 14.
Podgurski also contributed two service aces to lead the Black and Yellow, with
Hill and sophomore
Britney Rivera (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) with one each.

Cedar Crest will return to action on Wednesday, September 25 when they make the short trip to Bethlehem to take on Moravian College in non-conference play. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
