ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Volleyball team defeated Lehman College in straight sets on Saturday morning to kick off Homecoming Weekend.

The Falcons, now 6-8 on the year, took all three sets from the Lightning (25-10, 25-12 and 25-5). Cedar Crest tallied 46 points, 37 digs, 25 kills, 24 assists, 19 service aces and two blocks in the win.

Sophomore
Britney Rivera (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) led the team with seven kills, followed by freshman
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) with five and junior
Elyse Podgurski (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) with four. Junior
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) was the lone-Falcon to reach double-digits in digs, finishing with 11, followed by senior
Jannelle Mohney (Elkton, Mary./Rising Sun) with six and
Rivera with five. Sophomore setter
Madison Flatt (Reinholds, Pa./Cocalico) recorded 18 of the 24 assists in the match and also led the team in service aces with seven.
Podgurski earned five aces and
Hoppes contributed three. Both senior
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) and
Schouppe each had a block in the victory.

Next up, the Falcons will open Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play, with a road match against Keystone College. The match is scheduled for Thursday, October 3 at 7:00 PM at the Gambal Athletic Center.
