MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team rolled past Saint Elizabeth University, 3-0, in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Thursday night at Luing Gymnasium.
The Falcons won by set scores of 25-15, 25-1, and 25-13. The win moves Cedar Crest to 15-5 overall and 8-0 in conference action.
The Falcons paced the match in statistical category: earning 54 points, 39 digs, 30 kills, 31 assists, and 14 services aces. Cedar Crest posted a hitting percentage of .427 in the match, with their best set coming in the second set, where they hit .857 with 12 kills.
Junior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) reached double-digits to lead the Falcons in kills with 12, followed by sophomore
Ava Grapsy (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) with nine kills to go along with 10 assists and one dig. Freshman
Alexis Cummins (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) registered seven kills and one solo block. Senior
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) paced the visitors in the assist category with 18 while adding three service aces. Sophomore
Maddison Minyo (Covington, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) contributed nine digs for a match-high while graduate student
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) added eight digs a match-best seven service aces.
Cedar Crest will be back in action on Saturday, October 23 at home when they welcome in non-conference opponent Albright College for its Homecoming match beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saint Elizabeth (4-12 overall, 3-3 CSAC) will head to Cairn University on Saturday for a conference match starting at noon.
