ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team swept visiting Albright College, 3-0, on Saturday morning at Lees Gymnasium, marking the 10
th straight win for the Falcons, who have not lost in over a month.
Cedar Crest won by set scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-11 and led in virtually every statistical category. The Falcons tallied 58 points, 35 kills, 19 service aces, 34 assists, and 62 digs. The Lions edged Cedar Crest in blocks, 5-4.
Sophomore
Maddison Minyo (Covington, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) paced the Falcons with a double-double of 10 kills and 16 digs, while hitting .333 in the match. Sophomore
Ava Grapsy (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) followed with eight kills, 13 assists, 10 service aces, and six digs. Senior
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) handed out 19 assists and pitched in five service aces while graduate student
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) registered a match-high 21 digs.
Cedar Crest (16-5 overall) will close out the regular season on Saturday, October 30 with a home tri-match against Cairn University and Marywood University. The Falcons will play the Highlanders at 10:00 a.m. followed by a match with the Pacers at 1:00 p.m. It will also be Senior Day for the Cedar Crest. Albright (5-9 overall) return home to host Widener University on Tuesday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m.
