CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team remained unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) by routing Clarks Summit University in straight sets, 3-0, on Saturday morning at Huckaby Gymnasium.
The Falcons, now 11-5 on the year and 4-0 in conference play, defeated the Defenders 3-0, taking each set: 25-10, 25-11 and 25-14.
Cedar Crest ended the match with a total of 32 kills, 42 digs, 29 assists, 17 service aces, and three blocks.
Co-leading the Falcons in kills were sophomore
Maddison Minyo (Covington, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) and freshman
Alexis Cummins (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) with eight apiece while junior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) followed with six. Cedar Crest had two student-athletes ending in double-figures in digs, paced by graduate student
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus), who contributed 16 digs and three aces. Sophomore Rebekkah Sanchez-Castro turned in 11 digs, three kills, and two aces while senior
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) had 15 assists and led to squad with five service aces.
Cedar Crest will next host Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m.
