ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team took down Moravian University in straight sets at Lees Gymnasium on Friday evening.
The Falcons needed just three sets for to take down the Greyhounds, 3-0 (25-19, 25-23 and 25-23) to improve to 7-5 this season.
Leading Cedar Crest in kills and blocks was junior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg), as she recorded 14 kills and four blocks, as well as two service aces. Graduate student
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) tallied 22 digs in the match, followed by freshman
Alexis Cummins (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge), who had 15 digs and downed 10 balls for kills. Senior
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) contributed 24 assists in the match to go with one service ace. Sophomore
Ava Grapsy (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) had another solid outing with eight kills, 13 assists, and 14 digs.
The Black and Yellow recorded 75 digs, 45 kills, 43 assists, six total service aces and nine blocks in the win.
The Falcons will be back in action on Thursday, September 30 when they travel to Wilson College for their Colonial States Athletic Conference opener at 7:00 p.m.
