CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team took down Wilson College on Thursday night at Gannett Field House to commence Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
The Falcons swept the Phoenix (25-20, 26-24 and 25-20). With the win, Cedar Crest improves to 8-5 overall and 1-0 in league play.
The Falcons led in nearly every statistical category, scoring 49 points, 40 kills, 37 digs, 37 assists, and seven service aces. Cedar Crest would post a .275 hitting percentage, with their best hitting percentage came in set one, where they recorded 13 kills with just four errors for a .321 hitting percentage.
Sophomore
Maddison Minyo (Covington, Pa./North Penn-Mansfield) led the Falcons leaders in kills, tallying a match-high 13. Senior
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) dished out 18 assists and added a match-high three service aces. Freshman
Alexis Cummins (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) paced Cedar Crest on the defensive end with 11 digs.
The Falcons will next host the University of Valley Forge in a CSAC match on Saturday, October 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Lees Gymnasium.
