ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College softball team was swept by visiting Marywood University in a pair of one-run games, 8-7 and 2-1, on Thursday afternoon in non-conference play at Cynthia L. Blaschak Field.
Game One – Marywood 8, Cedar Crest 7
Marywood was the first to strike in the opener, tallying three runs in the fourth inning, all of which came on a three-run home run to right center from junior Cait Becher (Tremont, Pa.).
Cedar Crest got two runs back in the fifth. Junior
Brianna Lankford (Hanover, Pa./South Western Senior) plated graduate student
Riley Tremblay (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) on a sacrifice fly to right field. Two batters later, freshman

The teams combined for eight runs in the sixth. The Pacers saw five come across in the top of the frame to push the score to 8-2.
The Falcons answered with three of their own. Lankford got things started with a two-run bunt single, followed by an RBI groundout by senior
Sophia Callari (Asbury, N.J./North Hunterdon), which plated Tremblay.
Cedar Crest had a late charge in the seventh, but fell just short. Tremblay was back in the action with a two-out, two-run single to right field, bringing around freshmen
Alexis Kline (Allentown, Pa./Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter) and
Julia DiSands (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro). The next at-bat was a flyout, which ended the contest with the 8-7 final.
Tremblay and senior
