Lacrosse Tripped Up By Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team was tripped up by Wilson College in a 15-0 final in a United East Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Kris' Meadow.

The Phoenix put up five goals in the first quarter and then added six more in the second to carry an 11-0 advantage into the half.

Junior Sage Lague (Fairplay, Md.) netted the lone goal of the third quarter for Wilson and then the home team tacked on three insurance tallies in the fourth for the 15-0 win.

Senior Krystal Keinast (Purcellville, Va.) secured the win in goal for the Phoenix, making one save in 30 minutes of action. First-year Kaelyn Goff (Union Bridge, Md.) played the second half and registered three stops.

Senior Kayleigh Woomer (Gales Ferry, Conn./Ledyard) made 15 saves in the loss for the Falcons.

Senior Jill Ahlgren (Mercerburg, Pa.) paced Wilson with six points on three goals and three assists. She also had nine ground balls, seven caused turnovers, and nine draw controls.

Cedar Crest tallied 14 ground balls in the contest. Woomer and junior Abi Sipel (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) led the way with three each. Senior Krystal Sears (Manchester, N.J./Manchester Township) followed with two. Senior Adriana Hinkle (Palmerton, Pa./Homeschooled (played for Lehighton)), sophomore Kylah Demarest (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township), junior Ashley Large (Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit), sophomore Adriana Dias (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), first-year Kadee Schrader (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area), and junior Rachel Bilger (Philadelphia, Pa./Upper Dublin) closed the category with one apiece.

The Falcons registered six caused turnovers. Sipel had a pair while Large and Bilger each recorded one. The other two caused turnovers were credited to the team.

Demarest tallied the lone draw control for Cedar Crest.

Cedar Crest (7-4 overall, 1-3 United East) will conclude its regular season on Sunday, April 21 as the Falcons welcome in Sweet Briar College for a non-league game starting at noon. Wilson (8-4 overall, 2-2 United East) has qualified for the United East Conference Championship Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will face second-seeded Bryn Athyn College on Wednesday, May 4.
