Zakiyyah Sabir (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia E&T) took sixth at 145 to lead the Cedar Crest College wrestling team at the Pennsylvania Women's Collegiate State Championships on Sunday at East Stroudsburg University.

Following a bye in the Round of 16, senior
Zakiyyah Sabir (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia E&T) was taken down via fall by East Stroudsburg University first-year Selina Moore (Sherburne, N.Y.). In the consolation round, Sabir defeated Alvernia University junior Kathryn Berger (Reading, Pa.) by way of fall (0:55). Sabir then lost to Ursinus College sophomore Paisley Fox (Flemington, N.J.) via fall. In the fifth-place match, Sabir was beaten by East Stroudsburg University sophomore Paityn DeLong (Castleton, Vt.) via fall to finish sixth.

Charman began her day with a loss by fall to Ursinus College sophomore Gianna Perez (Soledad, Calif.). The junior rebounded in the consolation round with a victory via fall (2:27) over Delaware Valley University senior Emma Helverson (Southampton, Pa.). She was then defeated via fall by Alvernia University first-year Macenzie Hunter (Merchantville, N.J.). Charman concluded her day with a victory by way of fall (0:50) over Misercordia University first-year Maya Landefeld (Harrisburg, Pa.) to earn fifth place.

Lexy Jones (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area Senior) was taken down by Hunter via fall. In the consolation round, Landefeld topped Jones by decision, 12-4. The seventh-place match was then declared a no-contest, which resulted in Jones and Helverson tying for seventh at 180.
Cedar Crest returns to the mat in a dual match at Delaware Valley University on Tuesday, February 4 at 7:00 p.m.
