Baltimore, MD - For the secon day in a row, the Falcons were on the short end of a 5-4 decision to a Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent. Sunday's visit to Notre Dame of Maryland University for a rescheduled match saw the same outcome as Saturday's trip to Rosemont College.
The Gators took two of three in the doubles flights, with the freshmen duo of Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY, Manhattan Center for Science & Math) and Francheska Aquino (Coplay, PA, Whitehall) recording an 8-3 win at No.3 doubles for Cedar Crest.
But the Falcons again went only 3-3 in the singles competition, this time with wins by Jenny Clay (Kempton, PA, Kutztown Area) (6-3, 6-2) at No. 3 singles, Otoo (6-2, 7-5) at No. 5 singles, and Maria Vincent (Georgetown, DE, Sussex Central) (7-5, 5-7, 6-2) at No. 6 singles.
Cedar Crest drops to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the CSAC, and Notre Dame rises to 3-6-1. The Falcons will next play a previously postponed, non-conference match at Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday, October 4th, at 3:30 PM.
