Allentown, PA - In their last non-conference action of the season and a tuneup for this weekend's CSAC playoff-determining action, the Falcons took both ends of a doubleheader against the Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington.

Cedar Crest led off the first game with back-to-back four-run innings, establishing a lead they would never relinquish on the way to the 11-2 final score. Aly Mason had a big game, with three hits in three at bats including a triple with a one-base error that allowed her to score the final run. She finished with four RBI's. Amanda Schaffer (Bath, PA/Northampton Area) went five innings and allowed just five hits while striking out four.

In game two, the Falcons had a shaky first inning but erupted for seven runs in the second inning and six more in the third. Penn State struggled from the rubber in the game, replacing starting pitcher Medernach with Kulp late in the second inning. The pair combined for a surprising 11 walks. Pitcher Natalia Dial (Kannapolis, PA/Jesse C. Carson) allowed nine hits, and Aly Mason continued her streak with another two-for-two outing

Cedar Crest improves to 15-13 overall and 9-9 in the conference, while Penn State falls to 12-22 overall and 8-20 in the NEAC. The Falcons' next game will be on the road on at CSAC opponent Neumann University on Friday, April 27th at 3:00.
