Allentown, PA - Cedar Crest kicked off the 2012 tennis season with an 8-1 victory over Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Cedar Crest swept the doubles matches with the teams of Cassandra Bejar (Allentown, PA/William Allen) and Amy Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley), Jenny Clay (Kempton, PA/Kutztown Area) and Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake), and Maria Vincent (Georgetown, DE/Sussex Central) and Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math). Each Falcon player also won their singles match with the exception of Bejar who lost at No. 2 singles by a score of 6-0, 6-2 to give the Gators their only point.

Cedar Crest starts the season off at 1-0 and 1-0 in the CSAC, and Notre Dame is 0-1 and 0-1 in the conference. The Falcons will next play another conference match at Gwyedd-Mercy College on Wednesday, September 5th, at 4:30 PM.
