After a week off of competition, the Cedar Crest College Tennis team returned to action in a big way downing the College of New Rochelle 9-0.Â
In doubles action the #1 doubles team of Jamie Wojiechowski and
Amy Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) would claim victory 8-3. Â The doubles #2 team of
Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math) and
Maria Vincent (Georgetown, DE/Sussex Central) would follow suite and win 8-2. Â In the #3 doubles action, the team of
Olga Cauble (Concord, NH/Concord) and
Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) wouldn't allow CNR (College of New Rochelle) to score a single point as they would shut them out winning 8-0.
In singles action, Frey and Wojiechowski would start things off with Frey winning 10-4 and Wojiechowski winning 10-2. Â Sisson, who had to move up to the #3 singles position with freshman
Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) on the sideline would also see the right side of the score card winning 10-7. Â Otoo continued to dominate winning 10-0 in the #4 singles slot while Cauble would shut out the #5 singles winning 10-0 as well. Â
Maria Vincent (Georgetown, DE/Sussex Central), in her first singles match in nearly a month showed no rust, easily winning the #6 singles 10-2. Â
The Falcons now sit a game above .500 and remain at 4-3 in the CSAC. Â They will travel to Keystone for a CSAC battle with the Giants on Saturday.
