Looking to make up ground in the Colonial States Athletic Conference after the season opening loss to Gwynedd Mercy University, the Cedar Crest College Tennis team did just that and more on Friday evening as they took the court against visiting Baptist Bible.  

Amy Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) would continue her dominance at the #1 singles play with a swift 6-1, 6-0 win over Bliss Lecea.  Jamie Wojciechaoski would follow suit of Frey and down the #2 singles slightly better winning 6-0, 6-0.  In the #3 singles competition freshman Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) would run into slight trouble dropping set one to Kay Black 4-6.  But after encouraging words from her coach and teammates, Bryk would climb back in and fight back to win set two 6-0.  Set three would be a back and forth battle as Black and Bryk fought hard for each point.  Luckily for the Falcons, Bryk would emerge victorious and win set three 10-8.

After Bryks tough fought win, sophomore Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) would climb in an find some resistance from Ashlea Swingle as Sisson would win set one 6-3.  Sisson would continue to use her speed and agility to her advantage as she would take a close set two 7-6.  Sisson cruising now would continue her approach to the net finishing her singles battle with a 7-2 victory.

Junior Raki Otoo would climb in the #5 singles and show off what she had been working on in warm ups.  Otoo would use her power to dominate Gabrielle Kashuba, easily defeating her 6-0, 6-0.  Maria Vincent (Georgetown, DE/Sussex Central) would wrap things up for the Falcons in the #6 singles and would keep the trend going defeating Nicole Molling 6-1 and 6-0.

Doubles play for the Falcons was seen as one of the most dominating performances by the Tennis team in years as all #1 Doubles of Frey and Wojciechaoski, #2 of Bryk and Otoo, and #3 of Sisson and newcomer Olga Cauble (Concord, NH/Concord) would clean house without losing a single set as each doubles team would win 8-0.

The Falcons improve to 2-1 overal and now 1-1 in the CSAC.  The will return to CSAC action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Cabrini College, the match is set to start at noon.
