Looking to put an end to their three match losing streak, the Cedar Crest College Falcons Tennis team took to the road to take on Sarah Lawrence College.
Sarah Lawrence coming off a close 5-4 loss to Mount Saint Mary College (NY) came into the match hungry and looking to get a quick jump on the Falcons. Â
In the #1 singles, Nora Landes would down
Amy Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) in two sets 6-1 and 6-1.  Jamie Wojiechowski  would avenge Frey's opening loss to win the #2 singles 7-5 and 7-5.
Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) would follow suite and join Wojiechowski winning the #3 singles 7-5 and 7-5. Â #4 singles featured Sophomore
Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) and Sarah Lawrence's Sarah Pyatt. Â Pyatt would take set one 7-5. Â Sisson would battle back and fourth with her counter part and would eventually fall 7-5 in set two.
Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math) and
Olga Cauble (Concord, NH/Concord) would wrap up singles competition for the Falcons. Â Otoo would win the #5 singles 6-3, 6-3 while Cauble would drop #6 singles 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles competition Frey and Wojiechowski would team up and put their best foot forward as they battled with Pyatt and Landes. Â The Falcons #1 doubles would win 8-5 to put the Falcons up 4-3. Â Sarah Lawrence would win the #2 8-4 to tie the match 4-4. Â In the #3 doubles competition the team of Cauble and Sisson would team up and win it for the Falcons winning the #3 doubles 8-3 and put the Falcons over Gryphons 5-4. Â
The Falcons improve to 3-4 overall and will host Neumann on the 27th.
