Abington, PA

Looking to rebound from their season opening loss, the Cedar Crest Falcons Tennis team did just that and more in a dominating performance to claim it's first win of the young season.  "the Cedar Crest Tennis Program exemplifies a work-hard, have fun philosophy" said Head Coach Lynn Pigliacampi, and they sure did have fun with this one, downing PSU-Abington easily 8-1.

Amy Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) would open up the #1 singles defeating Hegarty Honora 6-3 in the first set and than 6-4 in the second set.  Jamie Wojciechaoski would follow suit downing PSU-Abington's #2 singles 6-2, 6-2.  Freshman Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) would battle back and fourth for the #3 singles, but would eventually fall to Carly Powell 7-5, 6-2.  Singles 4-6 would be all Cedar Crest as Kyleen Sission, Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math), and Olga Cauble (Concord, NH/Concord) would wrap up the remaining sets in singles play.

In the doubles competition Frey and Wojciechaoski would team up and win #1 doubles 8-3, Bryk and Otoo would do the exact same cleaning up the #2 doubles 8-3, and the #3 doubles team of Sission and Cauble would finish things off for the night winning 8-2.

The Falcons will turn right around as they travel to the College of New Rochelle for a non-conference tennis match, match time is set for 1:00 PM.
