Box Score The Cedar Crest Lacrosse Team traveled to play the Gators of Notre Dame University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. After a rain-soaked game under the lights, Gators overtook the Falcons 5-17.
The Gators would be the first to score in the first half, but senior Amy Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) quickly answered back with a goal of her own off of a good clear attempt. The Gators would score four more goals until Frey would win a draw control and work the ball up to the attacking side and score at 18:13 with the assistance of Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley Jr/Sr). As the Falcons continue to work with their full field transition skills, senior Erin Studer (Kent, CT/Housatonic Valley Regional) would cause a turnover on the defensive end that allowed sophomore Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen High School) to score at 17:22. The first half would end 3-14 in favor of the Gators.
After half time, the Falcons returned to the field to score twice on their set offence at 29:06 and 23:06. Both goals were shot by junior Kim Barry (Greentown, PA/Wallenpaupack Area). The Falcons lead both teams in successful ground ball pick-ups 26-21.
Goalkeeper Nicole Rivera (Bronx, NY/Eximius High School) had 5 saves and 8 successful clear attempts. Studer would record 4 caused turnovers. Barry and Frey had 2 draw controls a piece.
The Falcons will start 0-1 in the conference and drop 0-5 overall while the Gators improve 4-3 overall. Up next, the Falcons will travel to Galloway, NJ for their non-conference matchup against Richard Stockton on Tuesday, April 4th at 7:00pm.
