Box Score With spring weather finally upon us, the Cedar Crest Lacrosse Team traveled to Camden, NJ to battle the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden University for a non-conference match-up.
The Scarlet Raptors were to first to get on the board, but the Falcons quickly answered back with a free position goal by
Amy Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) at 27:34. The attack used the full width of the field to their advantage which was a key point in today's game along with strong communication. The second of
Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen High School)'s 3 goals in today's game took her 14 seconds get past the Scarlet Raptor's defensive line from center draw to goal cage.
The Falcons were the first to score after the halftime break with a free position goal by Wehry at 28:10.
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) had a stand out performance on defense by contributing half of the team's total caused turnovers. Viviana Samite would score her second goal of the game off of a draw control won by
Kim Barry (Greentown, PA/Wallenpaupack Area). Another defensive stand out was
Brenda Monroy (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area High School) who played with great aggression and patience for the Falcons. Barry and Rodenberger would earn 9 of the 13 total draw controls for the Falcons.
The Falcons drop 0-10 overall and the Scarlet Raptors will improve 4-7 overall. Up next, the Falcons will honor their seniors and play their Think Pink game for Breast Cancer Awareness at home against Centenary College on Saturday, April 12
th. Game time is at 1:00pm.
