Traveling to Gwynedd Mercy University, the Cedar Crest College lacrosse team looked to put the final touches on the 2014 spring season.
The Falcons opened up with a big first half after finding themselves down 3-0 five minutes in.
Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen High School) would take it all the way in for her first of five goals on the day. She would add two more in the first half.
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy),
Kim Barry (Greentown, PA/Wallenpaupack Area),
Amy Frey (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) and
Amber Wehry (Klingerstown, PA/Tri-Valley Jr/Sr) would all find the back of the net as the Falcons set a season record with most individual goals in a half with five different players scoring. The Griffins and Falcons would combine for 22 first half goals with the Falcons collecting eight of them, including two sets of Back-to-Back goals by Rodenberger and Lantion spanning from 21:54-20:38 and Barry and Frey between 13:44 and 13:09. Due to a lightning delay, the first half would also have to be postponed for over an hour with just 3:42 left in the first half. After the delay there would be just one goal, an unassisted goal by the Griffins Kelsey Yori.
The second half saw Rodenberger and Frey both collect another goal while
Vivianna Samite (Oakridge, NJ/Jefferson Twp) would join in on the fun adding her team leading 22nd goal of the season. With the second half,
Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen High School) would finish the season with 21 goals, Samite 22, Wehry nine (9), and Frey seven (7) to round out the top four.
As a team the Falcons would collect 21 groundballs, led by Lantion, Barry and Samite, 13 Draw Controls led by Rodenberger (4) and Barry (3) and eight caused turnovers, led by Lantion (3), Junior
Krysten Gillan (Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade H.S.) would also chip in with two caused turnovers. In goal
Nicole Rivera (Bronx, NY/Eximius High School) would collect 16 saves for a season total of 131 in 831:15 minutes.
