Green Mountain, VT

After a strong and successful pre-season, the Cedar Crest College Tennis team took to the road for their first match of the 2014 season as they traveled to Green Mountain College in Vermont.  First in doubles, Jamie Wojciechowski (Archbald, PA/Valley View) and Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) would team up in the #1 Doubles Match up and would sweep 8-0.  In #2 Doubles, Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math) and Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) would follow up with another 8-0 win.  Lastly in the #3 Doubles, the freshman team of Sarah Babbie (Champlain, NY/Northeastern Clinton Central) and Taylor Doran (Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande) would finish the clean sweep of doubles with a third 8-0 win.

In singles competition Wojciechoski picked up where she left off winning her first set of 2014 6-3, 6-0.  Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) playing in her first #2 singles position of her college career would win 6-2, 6-1 for her first victory of 2014.  Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math) would win the #3 singles 6-1, 6-1, while her doubles partner Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) would collect a win at the #4 singles winning 6-1, 6-0.  Lastly, playing in their first single matches of 2014 freshman Sarah Babbie (Champlain, NY/Northeastern Clinton Central) would win the #5 singles 6-1, 6-1, while Taylor Doran (Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande) would sweep the #6 singles 6-0, 6-0.

The Falcons will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Johnson State College.
