The Falcons Tennis team would continue their winning ways as they went on the road again today, taking on the Johnson State Badgers in Vermont.
The balls got rolling with number 1 doubles action, as sophomore doubles pair Jamie Wojciechowski (Archbald, PA/Valley View) and Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) couldn't fight off their nerves as they fell 8-1 to the Badgers number 1 doubles. Number two doubles would be much more fortunate as the pair, Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math) and Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) trounced the badgers number 2 team 8-2. The doubles pair of Taylor Doran (Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande) and Sarah Babbie (Champlain, NY/Northeastern Clinton Central) would also find themselves successful as they overcame the Badgers number 3 doubles 8-6.
In singles action, Falcons number 1 singles player Jamie Wojciechowski (Archbald, PA/Valley View) has to bring out her big guns to overcome her tough opposition, as she finished her game at 9-7. Unfortunately Bryk was unable to follow in Wojciechowski's footsteps as she fell at number 2 with an identical score 7-9 but in the opposing teams favor. In singles 4, despite her effort, Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) couldn't overcome her opponent as she fell 8-3. The following matches would go in the Falcons Favor as Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math) easily won her game 8-1, Sarah Babbies also won easily at number 5 only giving u2 2 games to win 8-2, along with Taylor Doran (Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande) who easily slipped by her opponent 8-1 in number 6 singles.
With the win the Falcons now move to a record of 2-0, and will have their first home game on Friday September 5th against Alvernia University at 3:30pm.
