Falcons Open Conference Play, Fall at Marywood

Scranton, PA – The Cedar Crest Falcons dropped their first conference game today as they fell to the Marywood University Pacers on the road.

In singles action, Jamie Wojchiechowski  fell at the number one spot 6-3, 6-0. At number 2, Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) fell with a closer score of 7-5,6-2, and at number 3 singles Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math) dropped her game at 6-1,6-3. At number 4 singles , Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) had the most competitive match for the day as she took the Pacers player to three sets before she fell 10-6 in the tie breaker. Olga Cauble (Concord, NH/Concord) would fall at number 5 singles 6-0, 6-1, and at number 6 Sarah Babbie (Champlain, NY/Northeastern Clinton Central) fell 6-4, 6-1.

In doubles action Jamie Wojciechowski (Archbald, PA/Valley View) and Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) teamed up at number 1, but fell 8-3. At number 2 doubles, Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) and Olga Cauble (Concord, NH/Concord) had a closer game but would eventually fall 8-6.  Rakia Otoo (Bronx, NY/Manhattan Center for Science & Math) and Taylor Doran (Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande) competed at number 3 but fell 8-4.

With the loss the Falcons record would fall to a record of 2-3 overall, and 0-1 in conference play. The Falcons return to the court on September 21st at home against Sarah Lawrence at 12:30 pm.
