ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College welcomed Cairn University back to campus to finish a previously postponed match from September, defeating the Highlanders in a tough match landing in favor of the Falcons, 5-4.
The Black and Yellow took the two of the three doubles matches with senior
Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) and freshman
Kirstina Litonjua taking second doubles and sophomore
Taylor Doran (Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande) and freshman
Stephanie Zuravnsky (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial High School) both taking with of 8-5 and 8-4 respectively from their opponent.
In singles action,
Doran,
Sisson and
Zuravnsky all defeated their competition.
Doran forced a tie breaker after losing the first set 3-6, but came back to win the next set and tie breaker by scores of 6-3 and 6-2 in thrid singles.
Sisson claimed fourth singles with scores of 6-0, 5-7 and winning the tie breaker 6-2.
Zuravnsky won in straight sets with scores of 7-5 and 6-0.
The Falcons return to the courts, tomorrow, Friday, October 9 at 3:30 p.m. as they face Summit University of Pennsylvania in Colonial States Athletic Conference Action.
