La Plume, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College tennis team competed in their first Colonial State Athletic Conference match on Friday afternoon dropping the series 7-2.
Taking the first win for the Falcons in second doubles action was senior
Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) and freshman
Kristina Litonjua (Easton, Pa./Easton Area High School) defeating their opponent 8-5. Freshman
Stephanie Zuravnsky and
Iman Traymon () finished first in third doubles with a score of 8-2 while juniors
Jamie Wojciechowski (Archbald, PA/Valley View) and
Emily Bryk (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) finished third with a score or 8-3 giving the Giants the advantage heading into singles.
Sisson would be the lone winner in singles defeating her opponent 6-3 and 6-1 in third singles. Three Falcons would force three sets,
Litonjua would fall in three straight sets after winning the first set 6-0 but losing the second two at fourth singles.
Bryk lost the first set in a close 7-6, forcing a tie break which she dropped with a score of 7-2 at second singles.
Wojcichowski finished first singles with a loss in the first set of a score of 6-3, to win the second set 7-6 forcing a tie breaker 3-7 to then play a super tie breaker which is a set of 10, falling 10-6.
Cedar Crest tennis takes on Colonial States Athletic Conference foe, Cairn University tomorrow, Saturday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. for their first home court match.
