ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College tennis team defeated Neumann University 7-2 in Colonial States Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon.
"I am really happy with our play today," stated Head Coach
Lynn Pigliacampi. "I saw a lot of the shots and the strategies that we have been working very hard on in practice implemented in the matches today. It was a good conference win for us."
The Black and Gold took an early 2-0 lead after doubles play. Freshman
Kristina Litonjua (Easton, Pa./Easton Area High School) and
Stephanie Zuravnsky (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial High School)Â finished first for the Falcons defeating their opponent, 8-3. Senior
Kyleen Sisson (Laceyville, PA/Elk Lake) and sophomore
Taylor Doran (Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande) would finish with a score of 8-4 over the Knights.
Jaime Wojciechowski, number one singles, defeated her opponent with a score of 6-3,6-2.
Sisson is able to keep her winning streak alive at the number four spot with a 6-1,6-1 win over her opponent.Â
Litonjua and
Zurvanksy each grabbed their second win of their career with wins over the Knights today at the number five sport with scores of 6-0, 6-0 and in the six spots,6-3, 6-1. Rounding out singles points for the Falcons was
Doran who won 3-0 after her opponent retired their match.
The Falcons are set to host Marywood University on Sunday, September 20 with match time set to start at 3:00 p.m.Â
in anoter Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup.Â
