Box Score 2 CLERMONT, FL--- The Cedar Crest College softball team dropped two games at The Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. The first game was against Penn State Behrend falling by a final score of 10-1 and looked to battle back to earn a split against Lebanon Valley College but fell shy with a final score of 6-0 on Thursday afternoon.
In game one, sophomore shortstop
Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) and first basemen
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) had the lone hits of the game.
Martinez making it to first with a bunt and
Schnaubelt with a single through the right side.
In game two,
Schnaubelt would lead the offense going 2-for-3 while
Martinez went 1-for-3 and freshman designated hitter
Nicole Ortiz-Siffel (/Southern Lehigh) also went 1-for-3.
Ortiz-Siffel hit a single up the middle in the bottom of the first but would be left on base.
Schnaubelt doubled to left field but another runner was left on base.
Martinez singled through the left side in the bottom of the sixth looking to rally as she was left stranded on second. In the final inning
Schnaubelt looked to get things going again with a single through the right side but was cut short ending the game, 6-0.
The Falcons finish up their spring training trip on Friday, March 11 at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. against University of Northwestern (MN) and New England College.
