Box Score 2 SELINSGROVE, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College softball team dropped a pair of games to non-conference Susquehanna University falling 12-0 the first game and 6-0 in the second on Wednesday afternoon.
In game one, the Falcons put together five hits as freshman shortstop
Kelly Reading (Taunton, MA/Taunton) hit a single to right field to start the game but wasn't able to advance later. Freshman outfielder
Brittney Bonser (Kunkletown, Pa./Pleasent Valley) looked to move freshman pitcher
Laura Rau (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) in the second inning and would succeed with a single but the team didn't string hits together to score before the end of the inning. A solo hit to left field by freshman third basemen
Amiee Sarboukh looked to get the inning going, but again the team came up scoreless in the third inning.
Freshman outfielder
Kristen Herpel hit a single to right field to start the final inning looking to get the Falcons on the board. Sophomore outfielder
Jackie Gallagher (Fort Worth, TX/Keller Central ) singled to left field advancing the runner but the two would be left on base with a final score of 12-0.
The second didn't fall in the favor of Cedar Crest either this time only coming away with one hit by
Reading who singled to first base with a bunt. Junior second basemen
Ciara Lane (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) was walked in the top of the sixth to get a runner but would be left on base but the Falcons would fall 6-0.
Next up for the Falcons is their first Colonial States Athletic Conference game at Rosemont College at 3:00 p.m. for a double header on Friday, April 1.
