Falcons Fall in Night Game at Gwynedd Mercy

Box Score GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team traveled to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Gwynedd Mercy University falling by a score of 20-3 on Tuesday evening.

Junior midfielder Regina Gill (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley ) tied the game at one a piece scoring the first goal, unassisted at 28:05 in the first half. Senior attack Vivianna Samite (Oakridge, NJ/Jefferson Twp) had a free position shot at 19:44 that was saved by the goalie. Freshman attack Alexandra Zoda (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. /Roy C Ketcham Senior ) attempted to add another goal for the Falcons with her shot being saved with 11:02 left before halftime.

Samite launched another shot in the second half that was saved at 27:07 and would miss a shot wide to the right of the goal. Gill scored her second goal of the game, her 18th of the season on a free position shot at 13:01. Zoda snuck another goal in with just seconds left in the game, unassisted for her seventh goal of the year.

Gill, collected two ground balls, caused three turnovers and four draw controls. Freshman attack Shelby Szoke (White Haven, Pa./Crestwood ) picked up two ground balls and one draw control while junior defender Ellen Hill (Madison, N.H./Kennett) had two caused turnovers. Zoda had two groundballs and one caused turnover as senior defender Nicole Rivera (Bronx, NY/Eximius ) had three groundballs and senior defender Gabrielle Kennedy (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) had one groundball. Freshman goalkeeper Desiree Lewis (Hazelton, Pa./Hazelton Area Academy of Sciences) had three groundballs, one caused turnover and 12 saves in the game.

The next game for the Falcons is on Saturday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m. as they travel to CSAC for Rosemont College.
