Box Score 2 ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College softball team traveled to Cabrini College for a Colonial States Athletic Conference match up as the team fell 10-1 and 6-5 on Tuesday afternoon.
In game one, in the top of the third, sophomore outfielder
Lily Acosta (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) began the inning with a walk. Sophomore outfielder
Jackie Gallagher (Fort Worth, TX/Keller Central ) would be walked next as freshman outfielder
Kelly Reading (Taunton, MA/Taunton) single to load the bases. Sophomore shortstop
Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) reached first on a fielder choice and the lone run would be scored on the next play, a sacrifice fly to center field.
In game two, sophomore catcher
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) singled to right field, and the next two batters advanced her to third for junior designated player
Rachel Stump (Fleetwood, PA/Fleetwood) double down the left field line for the RBI to tie the game 1-1 in the second inning. With a runner on,
Schnaubelt took one deep to right center to take a 3-1 lead.
Stump rallied with two outs for a single to left field,
Acosta took one to left field for a double. With runners in scoring position
Gallagher hit an RBI single to left field for a 4-1 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth.
Schnaubelt homered again in the top of the fifth inning to left field, although with a 5-2 lead the home team chipped away at making it 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth. In the final inning the Cavaliers singled and hit back-to-back home runs to take the win 6-5.
The Falcons play their next game against Centenary College (N.J.) with the first pitch slated for 3:00 p.m. in a Colonial States Athletic Conference double header.
