Box Score 2 GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College softball team earned a split in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match up at Gwynedd Mercy taking the first game 13-8 and dropping the second game 5-2 before the game was called due to darkness. The first win marks a new school record for the Falcons as the team broke the single season win record with 20 breaking the previous record of 19 wins from the 2012 season.

Lily Acosta (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) was walked for her to then steal second to begin the inning. Sophomore first basemen
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) doubled down the left field line for an RBI for a 1-0 lead. The second inning, freshman designated player
Nicole Ortiz-Siffel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) singled to center field advancing the runner who reached on an error. Freshman outfielder
Kelly Reading (Taunton, MA/Taunton) hit a single up the middle to load the bases.
Acosta singled for an RBI advancing on the play and another run scored on the error. Another run scored on the next play on a fielder's choice to take a 4-0 lead.
With the game tied 4-4 in the top of the fourth, an error allowed the first base runner and would be scored on a triple to left field by sophomore shortstop
Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) and would later score on a wild pitch to regain the lead 6-4. In the top of the sixth inning
Reading singled to third base on a bunt to lead off the inning. She was advanced to second on the next batter and stole third.
Martinez reached on a fielder's choice with a bunt while scoring the run.
Looking to secure the win and make the most of their final at bats, the Falcons opened up the scoring in the seventh inning. Freshman pitcher
Laura Rau (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) was walked and freshman
Brianna DeLany (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) pinch ran. Freshman third basemen
Amiee Sarboukh doubled to right center putting runners in scoring position.
DeLany scored on a throwing error by the second basemen. Sophomore outfielder
Jackie Gallagher (Fort Worth, TX/Keller Central ) singled to right field for an RBI.
Acosta singled to place a runner on third while both runners advancing later on a wild pitch scoring the run.
Martinez knocked in another two runs with a home run down the left field line securing the win 13-8.
The Falcons battled back in the top of the third inning to take the lead.
Acosta tripled to score the first run of the game as a previous runner reached on a fielder's choice.
Martinez doubled down the left field line for another run. Unfortunately that was the only two runs of the game for Cedar Crest before the game was called to darkness.
Next game for the Falcons is on Saturday, April 30 with the first pitch slated for 1:00 p.m. against Marywood University in a CSAC match up as the team host their Think Pink game.
