ALLENTOWN, Pa.—The Cedar Crest College tennis team improved their record to 2-0 this season with a 8-1 win over non-conference Penn State Brandywine on Friday, September 2.
The Falcons swept in doubles play, as the number two doubles team of sophomore
Kristina Litonjua (Easton, Pa./Easton Area High School) and freshman
Alyssa Esparo finished first securing the first point of the day for the team, 8-3. Senior
Jamie Wojciechowski (Archbald, PA/Valley View) and junior
Taylor Doran (Petaluma, CA/Casa Grande) followed suit of their teammates winning at the number one doubles spot 8-5. While freshman
Yomari Salvador Rivera and freshman
Victoria Vedage () picked up an 8-2 win.
For singles action,
Doran was the first Falcon to finish adding another point for the Black and Yellow, 6-0,6-3.
Rivera earned another win for the Falcons, 6-3, 6-2.
Wojciechowski defeated her opponent with a tie-breaker 6-0, 4-6, 10-3.
Litonjua won 6-1, 6-3 in the third spot and
Vedage played an eight game pro set taking her opponent 8-3.
The Falcons will take the court again as they travel to Penn State Brandwine on Thursday, September 8 wtih a 3:30 p.m. start time as they look to improve to 3-0.
