Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.—The Cedar Crest College volleyball team opened their 2016 season defeating non-conference Penn State Penn Lehigh Valley in five sets, dropping the first two by scores of 25-20 and 25-18 to come from behind and win the final three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 15-10 on Thursday, September 1.
Three Falcons led in the attack, senior
Maggie Olock, junior
Molly Schnaubelt and freshman
Nicole Hill (Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) all had nine kills.
Olock also led along with fellow senior
Celina Danish (Allentown, PA/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts) with both had four service aces. Freshman
Steph Barr (Unionville, CT/Sport and Medical Sciences Academy) added three service aces of her own in her college debut.
Hill had two blocks and one block assist while
Barr had two block assists while
Schnaubelt had one block assist. Freshman
Jacey Ludham had 20 digs, two assists and a service ace.
Olock had 11 digs while bar and freshman
Breanna Field had 10 digs and eight kills on the night.
The Falcons will play their next set of matches on Saturday, September 3 at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at they are set for a tri-match as they take on host school Penn State Harrisburg first followed by a match versus Albright College.
