Box Score BRYN ATHYN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team began their 2017 season at non-conference Bryn Athyn College on Monday afternoon, where the team struggled on the field together for the first time falling 17-1.
Senior midfielder
Regina Gill (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley ) got her first shot off around the seven minute mark of the first half, with the shot being blocked for the only Falcon shot of the half. Cedar Crest trailed 9-0 at the half.
To start the second half,
Gill, off the draw control, took charge down the field scoring her first goal of the season to put the Black and Yellow on the board. After a foul the team was awarded a free position shot by
Gill that was saved, three minutes later
Gill had another free position attempt, looking to add another goal, but the goalkeeper came up with the save.
Senior midfielder
Lauren Felix (Allentown, Pa./Saucon Valley) won the draw control that gave her her first shot attempt that was blocked. Later
Felix was awarded a free position shot that was saved.
Felix won the draw control working her way down the field that resulted in a shot that missed just high of the cage. With just under a minute to play,
Felix looked to earn her first goal of the season but the shot was saved by the goalkeeper. Freshman goalkeeper
Ta-Tionnah Curtis (Newark, N.J./University) record nine saves in the game.
The Falcons look to Thursday, March 23 for their next game as they travel to DeSales University for a non- conference game slated to start at 7:00 p.m.
