Box Score CENTER VALLEY, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team traveled to nearby non-conference DeSales University on Monday evening, where the Falcons hit a setback in a 16-2 defeat.
In the first half, senior midfielder
Regina Gill (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley ) got had the first shot of the game for the team, with a free position shot after a home team foul, which was saved. Senior midfielder
Lauren Felix (Allentown, Pa./Saucon Valley) took the next shot for the team, after a good clear attempt she fired a shot that was saved by the goalkeeper. Freshman midfielder
Theresa Neumann (West Point, N.Y./James I. O'Neill) was there for the groundball, and would take the next shot that just missed the target hitting the post. While earning a good clear attempt,
Felix was fouled, but she made the best of her shot by earning her first goal of the season. Â
Both teams would score early in the second half, with the home team struck first the Falcons would answer back with a goal by sophomore attack
Shelby Szoke (White Haven, Pa./Crestwood ), her first of the season.
Gill had her next chance on a free position shot that was blocked which was also the teams last shot. Junior goalkeeper.
Kristen Payes (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood ) record 14 saves in first game of the season.
The Falcons pick back up on Saturday, March 25 as their next game opens up Colonial States Athletic Conference play at 11:00 a.m. as head to Cabrini University.
