Box Score 2 NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.---The Cedar Crest College softball team won its opening games at the
Fastpitch Dreams Classic in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, winning their first game against Rhode Island College, 4-1, and defeated John Jay College, 8-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons trailed 1-0 headed into the seventh inning, junior shortstop
Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) began the inning with a double and would later advance to third on a wild pitch. Freshman second basemen
Dallas Horning (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) tied the game with a double to left center and would later advance to scoring position but would be left on third. Sophomore outfielder
Kelly Reading (Taunton, MA/Taunton) got the things started for the Falcons with a single up in the eighth, junior outfielder
Jackie Gallagher (Fort Worth, TX/Keller Central ) followed up with a single as well.

Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) and
Horning all hit singles to take a 4-1 lead that earned the Falcons their first win of the year.
Cedar Crest took on the Bloodhounds of John Jay College for their second game of the day, as the visitors took an early 1-0 lead, but the Falcons responded quickly.
Schnaubelt earned a double with a hit down the left field line to start things up in the second inning who advanced to third, and would later score on a throw down to second.
In the third inning, sophomore
Aimee Sarboukh (Somerset, N.J./Bound Brook) singled to center field, she later stole second and scored on a double to left field by Martinez. After stealing third,
Martinez was knocked in on a routine ground play.
Schnaubelt hit her second double to left field and scored after being followed up on a double to left center by Horning. Sophomore
Brittney Bonser (Kunkletown, Pa./Pleasent Valley) singled for an RBI, and stole second. Freshman
Alexis Morales (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) singled to center while freshman
Courtney Constable (East Bangor, PA/Bangor Area) managed to score two run on an error, to a 7-1 lead.
To start the sixth inning
Schnaubelt hit her third double of the day to left field while advancing later on a wild pitch.
Morales singled to the shortstop for another run as the Falcons earned their second win of the day to improve to 2-0.
The next game for the Falcons is on Sunday, March 5 at 9:30 a.m. against Penn College of Technology before an 11:30 a.m. game against Penn State Harrisburg.
