4/18/2017 7:54:00 PM

Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team fell 15-5 on Tuesday afternoon to fellow Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Keystone College.

The Keystone College Giants were the first to score, after two blocked shots by junior goalie Kristen Payes (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood ), finding the back of the net twice within the first four minutes of play. However, senior midfielder Regina Gill (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley ) answered back and scored off of a free position shot. After senior midfielder Lauren Felix (Allentown, Pa./Saucon Valley) came up with the draw, the Falcons worked the ball up the field where sophomore attacker Alexandra Zoda (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. /Roy C Ketcham Senior ) fired off her first shot of the day but was stopped short by the Giants' keeper. Gill and sophomore attacker Shelby Szoke (White Haven, Pa./Crestwood ) would take two more shots, missing just wide of the goal. Gill would get her second goal of the game 20 minutes into the first half after taking the ball up the field off of a draw control. With two minutes left to play in the half, Zoda found the back of the net. The Falcons went into halftime trailing the Giants 11-3. Payes tallied 10 saves in the first half.

The Falcons held the Giants on their defensive end for majority of the second half. Payes tallied five saves as Keystone rallied off shots. After a caused turnover, sophomore defender Ta-Tionnah Curtis (Newark, N.J./University) took the ball up the field to find the back of the net for her first goal of the season. With two minutes left to play in the game, Felix buried the ball off of a free position shot for her sixth goal of the season. Payes had seven saves in the second half. Cedar Crest ultimately fell to Keystone 15-5.

The Falcons celebrated senior day and honored Gill, Felix, Ellen Hill (Madison, N.H./Kennett) and Shannon Barriteau (Queens, N.Y./Academy for Young Writers).

The next game for Cedar Crest will be on Thursday, April 20 as the Falcons travel to Notre Dame of MD in a CSAC matchup. The first draw is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
