Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Cedar Crest College soccer team beat the John Jay College Bloodhounds 3-2 under the lights on Wednesday evening.
"I'm ecstatic about the win tonight. This was the first game played at the FalconPlex and we gutted out a great win," noted Head Coach
Sarah Wolcott. "John Jay came out really strong, and I'm so proud of how our team responded. We didn't sit back; we attacked with confidence and defended with guts. We showed so much tenacity and our will to fight for every ball was just awesome."
In their home opener, the Falcons were the first to find the back of the net at the first to score at the 20th minute of play. After shooting and having it rebound of the goalie, freshman
Adrianna Tennis (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove ) shot again, but this time finding the back of the net to put Cedar Crest on the board. Two minutes later, the Bloodhounds answered with a goal of their own, tying the game 1-1. In the 27th minute, freshman
Daria Warner (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) scored off of a run from the half, giving the Falcons the lead once more. Going into halftime, senior

In the 60th minute of play, the Bloodhounds found the back of the net, lifting the score to 3-2. Freshman
Rebecca Fox (Olean, N.Y./Olean) and senior
Jackalyn Beckett answered with shots, but were stopped short from the goalie. After two shots going high by senior
Caitlyn Mann (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin), the Falcons kept their lead and ended the game with a 3-2 win.
"It was so cool to see our players syncing up so well together.
Avery Huston (Levittown, Pa./Bucks County Techinical) did a great job of shutting players down and getting involved in the attack.
Adrianna Tennis (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove ) and Jackie Beckett quietly ignited our midfield," added Wolcott. "I couldn't be happier with this win. We gave everything we had for 90 minutes and left a mark. The first game at the FalconPlex was a win and this win feels good!"
The Falcons will travel to Aurora, NY to take on Wells College on September 10. The match is set to begin at 2:00 PM.
