Box Score 2 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. --- The Cedar Crest College softball split their two games Thursday, falling to SUNY Poly 8-7 after having a 6-run lead, and then defeated Medaille College 3-2 in 9 innings to put the Black and Yellow at 4-4 on the year.
The Falcons possessed a 6-0 lead in game one of their final day of the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic, before errors in the top of the 6th inning that saw the Wildcats score 7 runs and Cedar Crest ultimately lost 8-7. In game 2, the Falcons needed 9 innings to defeat Medaille College 3-2 in their final game in Myrtle Beach.
In game one, Cedar Crest would get 12 hits, led by junior outfielder
Brittney Bonser (Kunkletown, Pa./Pleasent Valley) who went 4-for-5, hitting two doubles, driving in three RBIs and scoring a run as well. Junior utility player
Aimee Sarboukh (Somerset, N.J./Bound Brook) ended the game 3-for-4, including a triple, scoring two and driving in two as well. Sophomore pitcher
Breanna Young (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) threw for 6.2 innings total, graduate student
Alexis Baxter (Clifton Springs, NY/Phelps-Clifton Springs) came in the bottom of the 5th to earn the last out, then an error-ridden top 6th resulted in
Young re-entering the contest and SUNY Poly scoring 7 runs.
Baxter suffered the loss to put her at 2-2.
The Falcons and Mavericks from Medaille faced off in Game 2, and need extras to close it out. Sophomore third baseman

Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) stepped up to the plate and put the ball in-play to score

The Falcons will not return to action until Wednesday, March 21 when they will host Penn State Abington for a double-header at Cynthia L. Blaschak Field, beginning at 3:00 and 5:00 PM.
