Box Score 2 IMMACULATA, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College softball squad dropped two Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) games to Immaculata University Friday afternoon. The Falcons, now 12-11 on the year and 5-6 in the CSAC, were swept by the Mighty Macs, 8-7 in game one and a 12-4 in game two.
In game one, Cedar Crest allowed 3 1st-inning runs, but the Black and Yellow would score 7 in the 3rd to take a 7-3 after three innings of play. Immaculata would put two more on the board in the 4th, add one more in the 5th, and two more in the 6th to take the lead and claim game one, 8-7 over the Falcons.
Senior catcher
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) would clear the fence with a 3-run homer in the game, going 1-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Freshman first baseman
Patricia Dalton (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) would also hit a bomb to center field, for her lone hit of game one, plating two RBIs. Senior shortstop would go 2-for-3 in the contest scoring and driving in a run.
Starting in the circle in game one was sophomore
Breanna Young (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area), who pitched a complete game of 6.0 innings, allowed 10 hits and gave up seven earned runs.
Young received the loss in the decision and put her season record at 6-6.
Game two started out with the Falcons trailing 1-0 heading to the second, but they would get two runs in the top of the 2nd to give them an early lead, 2-1. Immaculata would take the lead for good after three runs crossing the plate in the 3rd to put the score at 4-2 and would plate 8 more runs in the game for the Mighty Macs to claim the win, 12-4.
Sophomore third baseman
Dallas Horning (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and freshman second
Riley Tremblay (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) each went 3-for-3 and scored a run in game two,
Tremblay also drove in a run. Three Falcons,
Danielle Krispin (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock),
Ashley Heller (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and
Courtney Constable (East Bangor, PA/Bangor Area) would plate runs in the game as Cedar Crest fell 12-4.
In circle in game two was sophomore
Kendra Pekurny (Kunkletown, PA/Palmerton Area), who pitched 5.2 innings, striking out two batters and giving up 10 earned runs, having a record of 4-3 on the year.
The Falcons are heading to Keystone College on Saturday, April 14 with first pitch of the double header to begin at 12:00 PM and the second game at 2:00 PM.
